High Copper?

Okay guys, I'm having a little bit of trouble understanding this report. Mostly, what would cause the Copper to be so high. Prior to this report, the vehicle had the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets replaced as they were leaking (which was determined by the last UOA that was done). In this, all levels are back to relatively "normal" except for the copper. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Some one will chime in about what causes copper.

But

I would do another UOA on this oil change to get a more accurate reading of whats going own. when you have leaks, and you replace gaskets alot of things get "disturbed" in the process.

Did they use a copper based hi-temp gasket sealer or RTV?

I was thinking the same thing. Some shops lay down a heavy bead of hi-temp RTV for an intake valley gasket.

Hmm, I forgot about high temp gasket sealers and their copper content. That would make sense I suppose since there was such a huge jump in copper between the two used oil analysis. I'm guessing they used a copper based high temp sealant since it was repaired by a GM garage under (extended) warranty.
