"The car must have fixed itself!"

I spotted this stabilizer-bar end link a few minutes ago. I've seen them dangling from one end before, but this a first.

Usually its the lower link that fails, so it just dangles for a while... I guess if the upper one goes, then it is likely to get broken off.
I noticed that the front right one was dangling from the top on the Impreza at the end of winter, but I think it had been broken for months without me knowing it. The link is short though and I couldn't see it getting jammed on anything important, so I waited until it was convenient. Having the sway bar back in action did make a noticeable difference, and now on a couple of bumpy corners it quit bottoming out the outside front suspension.

Haha. I used to have a 1997 Grand Am, and it had no front end links. The sway bar was there, but the links weren't. I owned it for at least a year before I realized. They were the simple thru-bolt with bushings supported by cup washers that GM used for awhile. Very cheap and easy to install. Can't say I really noticed a difference once I installed them though. The car was probably very floppy anyway.

I did also add a rear sway bar to my old 2007 Focus. Some came with them from the factory, some didn't. That did make a big difference.

On my Camry I had one pop out (but only one joint). I barely noticed, although I thought it a bit odd that it was cornering on the door handles. "All Camry's do this, right? perfectly normal." Hey, the car was still moving, so whatever was broken wasn't all the necessary.

Our 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan doesn't have a rear sway bar, and nor does my friend's 2013. And yet, some of them came with from the factory. Who decides these things? 🤨
