Can you pull strings at SOPUS to create a synthetic JASO FD 2-cycle oil for us folks that use OPE? I like Stihl Ultra, but going to a stihl dealer to get it at above average prices is a sin.

I saw on the Pennzoil SN Q&A that the full synthetic is recommended, but it is only TCW-3 and not specified for air cooled OPE.

they would earn even more bonus points with me, and I am sure of many more.

Right now Amsoil and Stihl are the key players. I don't care if it is a 40:1 ratio.

Not synthetic, but JASO FD, for at least one formulation submitted for registration:

From the JASO M345 List:

Pennzoil 2-cycle Air-Cooled Engine Oil / 081RAY001 / FC
Pennzoil 2-cycle Air-Cooled Engine Oil / 081RAY002 / FD

There's also, Husqvarna Low-Smoke/LS (Lowes) and Echo Power-Blend (Home Depot), both are JASO FD registered. The Husqvarna is a conventional oil, and the Power-Blend is a synthetic blend.

My bottle of Stihl HP Ultra claims it's JASO FB.

It would be nice if Pennzoil had a synthetic 2-stroke oil for air-cooled. I won't hesitate to use their dino. Husky's oil is good stuff as is Echo's. I prefer the Stihl as I have had great results with it as with the now-defunct Mobil (sigh).

Chances of that happening are slim and next to none. Not enough volume to mess with it.

I have been using a 2-cycle oil made by Lubegard which is working really well for me in my 2-cycle applications. I have been ordering it by the quart direct from Lubegard.

Thanks for the info Johnny! I will look into it. I just want to use good oil to keep my OPE running for a while. I am not a one-season, then junk it type of person.
