how about ? 1.) 5 speed SCION XB that's less than $17,000 loaded with safety features ( VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL ) , plus is CAMRY engine that's capable of low 30s for mileage , the hatch has wide opening , and the cabin has lots of head , leg , storage room . 2.) '09 TOYOTA MATRIX 1.8 ( COROLLA ) or the 2.4 ( CAMRY ) with a 5 speed manual ( use synthetic gear oil now ) that has plenty of safety featues , room , and good mileage 3.) '09 PONTIAC VIBE 1.8 ( COROLLA ) or 2.4 ( CAMRY ) with 5 speed that comes with V.S.C. standard for all models and many other safety features . We test drove a '09 5 speed manual ( synthetic gear oil , GL-5 I believe ) with the 1.8 Ltr. engine and the clutch / shifting was quite smooth , rode nice too . The sale price was less than $16,000 if I remember right . Whatever you decide . GOOD LUCK ;- )

He told me that he'd like to keep me as a customer so he checked and at this point they'll only give me 14000 with all of the stuff on it still. So for now I think I've cooled off unless I can at LEAST break even on it. I do not want to pay the additional 2500 they are asking for and wont. My other alternative is to sell my truck private party and then go shopping too.
With gas prices being unpredictable, I'm sure dealerships do not want SUV/Trucks as trade ins. They probably lowballed you hoping you would not take the deal. With the gas prices going down, I've heard several people trying to trade/sell their trucks/suvs.

Keep the truck now is not the time to sell or buy just because emotions are running wild. You will end up loosing $$$ in the long run. In time if the gas prices go up your truck will alway be worth more and people wanting a truck will pay more for your Toy because it is a Toy and gets better mpgs and is way way nicer than most any other small truck.

Typically, Toyota trucks don't depreciate much. Some 20 year old models can still get $5000 if they are in great shape. Just wait the current fuel "crisis" out; if you still want to sell the truck afterwards, you'll make out better than you would now.
