I need to replace the axle lubes on the Pajero and require a GL-5 fluid. I've current got Mopar's 75W-140 in there, but really do not require anything that thick, considering I don't carry heavy loads or tow with the vehicle. Having said that, I want to go synthetic and I'm looking at two options:

Mobil Delvac Synthetic Gear Oil 75W-90

Mobilube 1 SHC 75W-90

Any particular reason one would be better than the other? Thanks!

The SHC is actually thinner across the board. If the vehicle is spec'd for a 75w140, I would probably lean towards the Delvac. If it's spec'd for 75w90, I'd probably for for the SHC.

If you're not doing anything severe like towing or off-roading, I don't think you'll see any real difference.

Sorry forgot to mention what's mentioned in the manual. For temperatures below 10°C (50°F), it recommends SAE 80. For temperatures above 10°C (50°F), it recommends SAE 90. I've always used 75W-90, but went with 75W-145 last time because I had it in my stash.
