Have a ram 2016 RAM 1500 with a 3.6L pentastar and the 845re tranny. I am looking for the cheap amazon aftermarket pan kit with integrated filter. Was reading the reviews and ran across "would have been a good product but the bolt holes do not line up" type of comments.

Is there a different pan for the hemi vs the 3.6L V6? Just want to make sure I pick the right one as I have a friend order it for me as I do not have an amazon acct.

If you want a quality aftermarket ZF-8 Speed pan/filter combo, order from Euro parts supplier like ECS Tuning or FCP Euro.

I have the same transmission in my Dodge charger. I installed the Dorman 265-850 12 months ago, and have done two Spill and fills since that time. Bought it for $102 out of their warehouse, got lucky and it was same as new. Also threw caution to the wind by refilling with Valvoline Maxlife ATF each time, no problems. Hope that your Ram was designed differently, I had to cut off some T40 bits and my bit driver to access some of the pan bolts because a cross member and the shift actuator blocked access to them. I don't trust refilling with the same amount that drained, so I do the full blown refill procedure, which makes replacing the fill plug a pain. I even cut several notches into the outside edge to get a better grip when starting the plug back in. Amazon incorrectly states that this is not the correct transmission pan for the 845re, but you can cross check this with other parts houses. If you live in the same world I do, you have no use for questionable Mopar parts and unicorn tears.

FCP Euro provides a lifetime warranty. Unless there's huge price diff, I'd go with FCP Euro

I have heard that the pans are the same between the 8HP45 (845RE) and the 8HP70. I owned one of each between two Ram 1500s, but never did pan/fluid changes on them. The nice thing about the pentastar powered Ram 1500s is the transmission pan is in the wide open, so if you have to re-do your work because an inexpensive aftermarket pan didn't work out, it shouldn't be too awful of a job.

FWIW, a few months back, my brother did a spill and fill on his 2019 Ram 1500 pentastar 4x4 at 60K miles and the factory fluid looked very good still and he pulls a boat with his about 500 miles per year. He refilled with Maxlife ATF.
