Help please Toyota/Lexus 2GRFE passenger CV axle seized

I use an air hammer with a blunt(ish) bit on the cage. Ideally, you need someone to simultaneously pry/put pressure on the axle while you run the air hammer.

100% success rate for me, but your success may vary.

Do you find it best to hold tight pressure or let it sit a 1/4 in away from what you are trying to hit?
 
I have to agree with The Critic on this one. An air hammer is the best way to do this. I’ve also had 100% success rate in the same situation with an air hammer. I also load the inside of the carrier with anti seize as well but you don’t have too but it keeps you from being in this situation again.

Tight pressure. If I’m doing it on my back, I’ll use my right arm for the pry bar. Air hammer is held by my chin and left hand is squeezing the trigger. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Also, a good air hammer with strong air supply is important. Not sure what your setup is.

Is this video at 6 minute mark he describes using a longer bolt in the hole in bottom which would push the outer race up off the bracket surface.
I wonder if that works or just strips the threads out.
 
If my memory is correct, I had a similar experience on a 2004 Sienna. It was long ago so this is what I remember.

1) Be sure, if there is a snap ring holding in the bearing, that it is removed.
2) You can grind down an open end wrench to be thinner to try to get the bolts out from that hard-to-access location.
3) Even with the bolts out, there might be locating pins on the bracket that plug into the engine, so you'll still not be able to get the whole stuck assembly to slide out straight away from the transmission. If you get to that state then do what I did: cut the shaft with reciprocating saw between the transmission and bracket. Then it will come out, and you can replace the cv axle and either try to salvage the bracket on the bench or buy a new one.

If you try that create a cup point for yourself! Otherwise you'll mushroom the bolt and destroy the threads backing it out.

The hidden bolt did hit the axle but with the other 2 bolts removed they all eventually came out.
Unfortunately the bracket has 2 dowel locator pins so it could not slide out...

axle is still seized into the bracket part.
I have hit this as hard as I can 50 times with a 3lb hammer

tried heating it for 5 mins with a torch....but... Still won't budge.
I think just going to buy a new bracket.
But at least will be able to replace the axle and get everything put back together.

Call a couple machine shops to press it apart. Nice work and way to stay focused on the problem!

You might also be able to load it with a 2-jaw, heat, vibrate, repeat. The idea is lots of preload then "upset" it. Once it starts to move at all you're probably golden.
