Help:Pics dont appear, only blank boxes w/ red x's

I replaced a crashed hard drive with a new one on my laptop. Dell 5100.

I reloaded XP Pro and Service Pack 2.

Now on certain web sites, some images or pictures do not appear, only blank boxes with litle Red "X"'s.

What is going on and how can I fix it?

I am assumin it's IE. Go to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and check the 'show pictures' option under the multimedia heading.

Make sure you have Flash and Macromedia players installed.

Also possible you have "hide pictures hosted on other sites" or somesuch turned on by default, as an anti-adware thing.

Pics in the photos section of this BBS, usually hosted on photobucket, won't show up... but the site sponsor icons might.
