So im coming up on my 60k Maint schedule, but first some background info.

Make: Subaru
Model: Imperza WRX STi
Current Mileage: 55,310
Driving Conditions: 75% Highway, 15% Country Roads, 10% City (Stop and go)
Motor Oil of use: Redline 5w30
Filter of use: Purolator PureOne Oversized (PL14612)

Alittle more, the car does see some redline action and track events, no drag launching and I maintain the car extremely well.

Heres what im planing to do at 60k major maint. Tell me what you think, should or should not include.

1. Change Oil\Filter
2. Change Rear Diff and Transmission Fluid
3. Change Coolant
4. Check Tire Pressure
5. Change Power-Steering Fluid
6. Change Fuel Filter
7. Change Clutch Fluid
8. Check All Bolts\Nuts
9. Check Brakes
10. Change PCV Valve
11. Rotate Tires or New Tires
12. Optima Red Top Group 35
13. Change Brake Fluid
14. Change Spark Plugs
15. Change 02 Sensors
16. Change Air Filter (AEM Dry Flow)
17. Upper Radiator Hose
18. Lower Radiator Hose
19. Change Drive Belt (Belts?)
20. Change Thermostat(S)
21. Cabin Air Filter
22. 4 Wheel Alignment
23. New Wiper Blades
24. Clean Idle Air Control Valve
25. Clean Mass Air Flow Sensor
26. Lube All Bushings

Random Things to Pick Up

- White Lithium Grease (Aerosol Can)
- Two Bottles of Chevron Techron 20Oz
- Electronic Parts Cleaner
- Windshield Washer Fluid
- B12-Chem Tool

Im also thinking about getting the dealership to do a fuel injector flush, engine decarb, and throttle body cleaning.

What do you think?

Way, way overboard. Why don't you just make a donation to BITOG instead of letting the stealership take it?
What happened during the 30k service? What model year is the car?
PS. Check your tire pressure a little more often.

That's a pretty thorough list. I might reconsider changing radiator hoses at 3 years 60k. My '98 chev K1500 with 180k miles on it that I just sold was doing great on the original hoses.

I'd be really careful with the cleaner you use to clean the MAF sensor. Those little wires are really delicate. Use one that is specifically recommended for this purpose. If your AEM is not an oiled filter (I'm not familiar with the dry flow), then consider ignoring this altogether for now.

Tosh - I will be preforming ALL that myself. Except for the engine decarb, throttle body cleaning, and fuel injector flush...for obvious reasons.

I check my tire-pressure at every fuel up, however I put it on my 60k maint just to have it there...i'll cross it off my list the day of the work.

My 30k service wasn't that indepth. I did some things like Plugs and transmission\rear diff.

I can tell you love your car, but some of your items are obsessive: pre-emptive O2 sensors, plugs, thermostat, hoses, battery? Why not do exactly what the owner's manual severe service suggests and save your money for real problems?

I also believe fuel system and combustion chamber cleaning is a long term process done best with a regular fuel additive in every tank. Don't let the stealer touch it, especially since you can clean the TB yourself.

Sounds like a good list! And that is a sweet ride (ok ok I love Subaru's!) This would be good to post over at ultimatesubaru.org. It might be a touch early but maybe not too much to replace the O2 sensors, but if you're replacing them maybe I'd just replace the fronts, as those sensors will be $60-100$+ each (suggest OE for those).

Other than that, your list looks pretty through, is there anything additional shown in the manual that should be checked done?

I'm assuming this is an MT, are you replacing the gear oil/front diff oil too?

Does this vehicle have a MAF? Sometimes the newer Suby's just have a MAP.

What's your timing belt change interval? The Sti might have that high accuracy/low stretch timing belt that might have a change interval of 60k but I'm not sure. And that is almost certainly an interference engine so $$$ if you bend the valves and/or dent the pistons.

If you're doing the radiator hoses already, you might want to do the heater hoses and the throttle body crossover hose and I'm assuming you have a turbo (I think the Suby turbos are coolant (as opposed to oil) cooled so there might be hoses there too, but the Suby hoses seem to last a long time).

I'd use OEM parts as much as possible on that baby except for the cases where an aftermarket part is clearly superior...(i.e. no chain store aftermarket parts.)

If you're really into the injector cleaning you could remove the injectors and send them to someplace like witchhunterperformance for cleaning/flow matching. I get good results with adding a little redline SI-1 and some Lucas UCL to the gasoline in my Suby's.

This is your baby, isn't it?

I'd change the transmission and power steering fluid to synthetic.
Amsoil is a good choice here.

Hey go for broke and suction and fill the Amsoil brake fluid too.

If you are going to change the thermostat, change the radiator cap too.

In my honest opinion, you can NEVER be too careful about coolant hoses, I see NO question replacing them at 60k if you wish to do so.

This coming from someone who USED to believe they didn't need changed that often - lone-behold I blew a fairly unused upper hose, only had maybe 50k or so ON that hose that lead to the overheating of an engine famous for headgasket issues if allowed to get hot.

Call it a fluke, or murphy's law, I know, I agree, but you still can't be too careful on the maintenance of your cooling system. In my opinion, that's the leading cause of vehicle/engine issues; and it's just not worth the $10-20 dollars of playing a guessing game.

By all means, replace your coolant hoses - only takes a few dollars, and a few minutes of your time in comparison to the expense of what could happen if one were to blow.

Who's recommending a 'fuel injector flush'? Don't pay someone to do that, as all it involves is pouring something into your gas tank. Unless they're physically removing your fuel injectors and cleaning them, you're paying for nothing.

Really? I was under the assumption that the stealership would induce a cleaning liquid through a port on the fuel rail that would clean out the injectors directly.

Is that wrong?

#2 - also do front diff and any other seperately lubricated systems
#12 - why? Do you have an indication that your battery is going bad? If not, wait on it
#15 - why? Any indication that your sensors are bad or getting lazy?
#17,18 - why? any indication that theyre dryrotting or showing other breakdown?

Im not sure Id use chemtool unless necessary. otherwise, Id run a strong dose of neutra, or else run redline SI-1, a tank before you change the oil.

All of those things I listed above should absolutely be done as soon as there is any indication of degradation. Until then, just do the rest.

I agree with the comments about the coolant hoses. Although 60K may be a bit aggressive, in my opinion I'd prefer to change them before there is a problem that leaves my wife or I stranded.

Another suggestion might be to change the brake fluid out as a preventative maintenance item as well.

The O2 sensors may be a little early. I'd wait on those unless there is a compelling reason to change them now.

My front diff is in the transmission, its hard to explain but its all one unit. So when I change my Trans fluid, I also change the front diff.

About my battery, no real indication was just planing on replacement.

About my 02 sensors, there on the 50\50 in my mind if I should do them or not...

And my upper and lower radiator hoses have some small tiny cracks, so im gonna replace them for safe measure.
