While detailing my 01 Sebring.. I noticed that on the sides... like real low.. under the rocker panels (I think that's what they're called)..paint is chipping and some rust is forming.
The car had been undercoated with rubber and rust proofed when bought new.
The paint chips and rust are not noticeable unless you get down on hands and knees to view. Car actually looks brand new still!
I'm thinking I should slop on some kind of rust paint, and then spray over with matching car paint as a PREVENTATIVE measure as I do not want the rust to spread up where it will soon be visible. (I plan to keep this car for another 4-5 years)
Is there a product that exists where I wouldn't have to sand, and I can just apply directly over the rust to stop it in it's tracks? Thanks for any recommendations!
