OK, the end of my OCI's for each car is creeping up. I always like to buy my oil a little before I change it. Why, I dunno.

So help me pick a better than avg. dino and filter for my Saturn Vue 3.6, and a synthetic for my Stang (will be using ford filter (i like the adbv).

Current fills are on the bottom.

I've used almost every mainstream manufacurers oil on the mustang except for Valvoline. I like to change it up, so I might lean towards that, but change my mind if you want.

Both cars below 50K miles. Both a mix of highway and stop and go. Short drives, with an occasional 200 mile trip for the Saturn (2x a year). Don't want super long oci's. I'm in NYC so the temps range from below freezing to above 100. That is all.

There is some rebates on Quaker State oil and Pennzoil, register your cars on both sites, and get 2 jugs of synthetic oils for each car very cheap. And don't worry for another year

Why use dino if you can get synthetic very cheap right now. Refer to sales forum.

Mileage and condition of the Saturn and Mustang?

Ive used Pennzoil Conventional in Pontiac Transport was pretty go as far as dino also did GTX for DINo . Now onto synthetic previous 4 fills were Pennzoil Platinum bought cheap 20$ , last 2 ocis have been Quaker State Ultimate Durability (GREAT milage) and will be doing Napa synthetic in December OCI ... Napa syn,Valvoline conventional and synpower are on sale for 3.38 QT until 31st July .

If you aren't looking for an extended OCI try Napa synthetic.
It's currently only $3.39 a quart and made by Valvoline. At that price I'd use it in both vehicles.

Check the current sales for Napa and O'Reilly's. Between the two, you are sure to find a good oil. Both have conventional and synthetic on sale. Honestly, since you like to change it up, make it a shopping experience. Go in there and look around and pick whichever one(s) float your boat.

+1 Those would be my recommendations as well. Register both vehicles online for the Pennzoil warrznty and you'll get a rebate for $10 on Pennzoil conventional, $20 for PP and $25 for PU.

Go to Walmart, get a 5-quart jug of Quaker State Ultimate Durability, and file for the rebate. You'll get a great synthetic cheaper than you can buy anything else for.

it seems to have really good cold flo. i dont know the specs but you can tell when its 30 out that this oil is much easier to pour than any dino. im saving my last 7 qts for my winter fill

as a matter of fact when i think about it, my last fill was 6qts synpower and 1 napa syn. the napa did pour better than the synpower even tho it was not cold out. its got a lighter color too (dont know if that means something or not) but those are the only 2 visual differences i could see
