I've been mixin' for around 40 years and never a problem. I just mix differently today(2qts syn/3qts dino) from all of the oils that I buy on sale/rebate/closeout. All oils are held in high regard here at BOB's
All of my engines held up for as long as I owned the vehicles wheather it was 100K or 300K. I use to mix any oil I could get just to create an oil change for my beater(5qts all being different wgt/brands)
When DAD had his station(1955-1979) we would tip up all of the qts of oil(after doing an oil/filer job) and let them drain into large containers for truckers or anyone else that would come in looking for cheap oil. Dad carried 4 different wgts of oil and sometimes 5. It all went into these containers. I used it too for my kluncker. He kept the new oils for his paying customers.
I tip the oil containers today and use the oil in lawn/snow equipment. You wouldn't beleive how much oil you can get doing this. I have around the garage, ~4 different weights of oils for all of my vehicles, since my vehicles can use a variety as/per the OM.
Never an issue!
