Help identifying screw type

I paid $30 for a 6-pack of “security screws.” At a first glance, these appear to be some type of 7-point torx security screws that are close to a T30 size.

Does anyone know what these are?

Is that a random pattern on the screw head? Almost looks like some of the security fasteners McGard used to, or may still manufacture. Been a long time. I worked there in the early 1990s.

It appears so. The vendor advertises these to be "proprietary" to them, but I am curious if they truly are.

It looks similar to a Bryce Stykfit7 but not identical. Bryce sells all kinds of crazy anti-tamper fasteners.

My father in-law put similar screws on my wifes car for the license plates because she grew up in Brooklyn. So I've been using security screws ever since. I prefer the rounded ones that are harder for vice grips to lock down on.

Good idea for lic plates. Had one on my motorcycle stolen once. I had used the handy plastic finger screw on types.
