Help finding a bulb

I have these type of bulbs in my ceiling fans:

I believe this is E12/candelabra base, torpedo shape, 60 Watts.

Now, I would like to replace them with a CFL of equivalent brightness (probably 14 Watts then) and that is also dimmable. I found some, but they were not dimmable. Can you help me find what I'm looking for?

I know IKEA carries bulbs that fit that base up here, but I don't know if you have IKEA in the US yet other than Southern Ohio near the Kentucky border on the West side of the state.

Finding dimmable CFL bulbs is like hunting for hen's teeth. If you find some, please post the magic location. I could use a few myself.

Yes, I have an IKEA near me, but are they dimmable CFLs? The regular ones (non-CFL) I can find just about anywhere, including WalMart, but I already have those.

Dimmable CFL's would be very expensive, probably not mass market, as they use a different type of ballast. Maybe something you could find on the internet.

I've seen LED bulbs in that size. Probably more expensive than a regular CFL, and probalby less light, but they would be dimmable.

Actually, my local WalMart/HomeDepot/Lowe's carry quite a few of the dimmable CFLs, and they're not that expensive, but just not the size/shape/wattage that I need here.

So, you're thinking that you can find something that wasn't available on the internet?

Uhhh..... good luck with that.

Lowe's had them and it's what I used. But I doubt they're a 60W equivalent.

No. I'm just saying that I personally haven't found them in the 20 minutes that I spent looking for them. That doesn't mean they don't exist. Internet is a big place. I was just hoping that some other BITOGer may have come across them before and can share a link.

Sorry I missed the Dimmable part. Do they have to look like a flame? or is Spiral OK? If Spiral is OK I know where to get Dimmable ones up here I think.

Spiral is OK as long as the overall length is not much more than the flame one.

The Chicago (Schaumburg) store, at 40K square meters, is actually the largest IKEA in North America. The one you're referring to is the Cincinnati (West Chester) store, which at 32K square meters is bigger than the largest IKEA stores in Canada.

Until LED lamps are further developed, consider going with halogen bulbs. More light at less cost. CFs are a bad idea.
