Employers offered 'major medical coverage' for big stuff, where smaller outpatient procedures you paid cash and just made payments to the doctors office if need be. The good old days.

It AMAZES me that the US can even function with a system this screwed-up. How can anyone be productive when they are getting an ulcer over what should be a happy event?

I know i've said this before a hundred time....yeah, we pay a lot more in taxes up here, but these kinds of decisions/problems don't even ENTER into the equation!

kbo1, I don't understand the situation enough to offer advice, but please don't short-change that kid on the love and affection he is deserved b/c you 'weren't planning for him', and he's causing financial strain - he doesn't understand that!!!
