Hazet 600N Combination Wrench Set, 10pc, $99.85

These are mine. I bought these to replace professionally used sets more than 30 years old set only because the new ones have Hazet and Stahlwille version of "flank drive". I gave the old sets to my son for DIY use but they are still perfect and never failed or wore out.

You don't need to spend this type of money due to other quality brands w/lifetime warranty. So what? buy what you want. I shared what some are thinking and they shouldn't have to pay such a high price for tool access that offers close or similar quality to some other brands. Like the other poster asked... How's the warranty ordering from overseas? How long would one be down a tool until replacement? Things to think about. No one is taking away the quality of these tools & for those folks it's well worth the buy. Obviously there are really low quality tools w/ "lifetime warranty" but that is not what I'm talking about or referring to.
Well - There are good tools out there at a similar price point, but that’s what makes this such a deal - these are better.

But at the same price point.

So, this is a great deal.

Not everyone uses tools as often as, say @Trav does, so not everyone needs the best.

But for the same price as average tools, why not have the best?

I mean, if you could get a bottle of Macallan for the same price as Dewars - wouldn’t you get the Macallan?

That's the essence of my comment. I still have 25 year old AC Delco branded box wrenches still chugging along but granted I do wrench but not like a daily mechanic would. That's the great thing about having a variety of options available at different price points. I appreciate any deals like this that pass along savings to whoever needs them for their application. However, It's amazing how many folks can get along with the cheaper cost "lifetime warranty" tools. I'm sure some would be perfectly happy with Dewars. You know taste buds being different and all. :) (y)

I bought this set a couple years ago. Definitely my go to.

Minus the DHL diver (with a massive red sauce stain in his shirt) getting lost and mistaking my pond for a lake and trying to find said lake rather than my house, they’ve been great.

I'm thinking about getting these to replace a set of Proto Blackhawks. The first thing that I noticed while borrowing a Hazet wrench from another person was the relatively thin profile. This made the wrench feel less limiting and more maneuverable in certain situations. If Astro14 has it...

Let me add that I first discovered the need, not just desire, but need, for better wrenches when working on the S 600.

There is an accumulator on the suspension hydraulic system pressure regulator. It requires either a 22 mm or 24 mm open and wrench.

The body of the pressure regulator is tight up against this accumulator, and then the bell of the accumulator is right there. The flange on which you can place the wrench is very narrow.

The old, made in the USA, Craftsman wrenches in my collection simply would not fit. They were too thick.

I measured the available space, and every single wrench that I considered, including husky, and icon, and others, were all too thick. I went out and measured them.

Enter Stahlwille.

Lightweight, slim, forged, and incredibly strong.

Slipped right into that tight space in the accumulator and worked beautifully.

I don’t know if some serious time on a bench grinder, thinning out the open end of a husky, craftsman, or icon would have yielded the same results.

There is a difference between wrenches like these and the regular tools available.

fit, feel, and satisfaction of using a well designed, well-made tool
^this...plus the slimness.

"Auntie" held a garage sale when her husband (Golden Winger-American) died.
A guy said of his tools, "This is good stuff". I couldn't gather how much she got for them.
I would've walked on my hands (Nevada from NJ for that sale had I known.

Thank you to my uncle who retired from Sk tools for leaving me every hand tool sk ever made known to man. Still looks like a good deal though.

Some rare kinds of Kefir?

I love Carl Walter for the thin, strong and resilient box ends. My go-to spanners are from Wright Tools though, they fit my hands very well.
I do not buy sets, but speaking of sets - that Hazet above has also a 16-pieces twin.

Agree, I recently discovered by accident/via sale another German brand for myself. Wera. They are headquartered in Germany and have manufacturing there and Czech Republic (they also historically had very good steel, refer to early ww2 german tanks, they had hundreds of Czech made tanks and praised them for a reason). They are not so crazily expensive as Hazet and maybe tiered lower in reputation, but I love their quality and feel for far. I also like their more modern appearance and bright color coding for sockets. Also lock and hold mechanism for sockets is nice. I now own couple sets of their ratcheting wrenches, both regular and mini/compact size, screw driver set along with several extra sockets that were missing from those sets.
