Hawaii is getting too expensive to visit.

I am not a cruise person yet (too young too impatient) but I can see the charm. It is like you are in an RV that has a magical door into different part of the world every time you open it, and a theme park right outside the door whenever you feel like going somewhere. If you are spontaneous and like to try new things you get to do whatever you feel like all of a sudden. Not my thing but I can see kids getting excited about this kind of opportunities.

One day we will have earthlings not understand space travel as well, and want to just stay on earth. It is something like that.

Space cruises!!!! Now that's something I'd do!

The excursions the cruise line offered were great, driving a rzr through Jamica and snorkeling in Mexico was awesome.

Have been there many times on work trips, never going to pay my own way to that place for a vacation. It is like a trailer park surrounded by 5 star hotels, it is not a nice place.

The thought of going to Costa Rica was always interesting to me. Im not much of a world traveler to say the least.
But seems like a popular destination. I have heard form some who loved it. Anyone in here?
We went last July, and highly recommend it too. 9 of our family went and we used G-adventures https://www.gadventures.com/search/?q=costa&ref=navsearch And did a 9 day family tour with a group of 20, with 3 very nice American families. We also went a couple days ahead and walked around San Jose which I liked, and saw everything from tin shacks nearly falling into the river, to fancy shopping malls. In the day, I think almost anywhere is very safe for tourists. The landscape is beautiful, and lots of interesting wildlife too.
The guided tour is a good way to go if you're not comfortable arranging your own trip, and you get to some of the smaller places that aren't really advertised well, or are experiences arranged by our tour guide that aren't open to the public.

My parents did Belize for a week and really enjoyed the trip. Plus everyone speaks fluent English.

The Europeans can’t stand American travellers as well for the same reasons.
Yeah and as an American traveller to Europe, the only loud noise and trouble I noticed was from gypsies and migrants harassing tourists in popular areas. I didn't see any obnoxious Americans / Westerners, none that stood out, but a 7' tall guy from the Congo trying to scam you into a 2 cent bracelet, they are super annoying.

Obese child gypsies running around from table to table begging for food claiming they are hungry. Boo hoo. Old gypsie ladies laying in the middle of the sidewalk while babysitting a 3 year old asking for money.

I agree AirBNB and VRBO has turned landlords into hoteliers now, thus pushing out locals from the once cost effective city lifestyle. It's not all the American tourist fault though, many wealthy Europeans are purchasing property throughout the EU as well.

These countries are fully capable of changing laws to solve the tourism problem, but they don't want to turn off the cash cow. At the end of the day, the gov't doesn't care about the people complaining and it's not like voting will change anything.

Visit Europe while you can folks, it's going to be a vastly different place in 30 years, and many spots won't be worth visiting..... I'll leave it at that.

Here in the USA, I find Japanese tourists to be very courteous and inoffensive.

Traveling abroad, traveling to Egypt can be very challenging. Aggressive vendors and con men everywhere. At Abu Simbel airport, they would not allow me to board a flight for which I had a ticket unless I paid them a bribe. When arriving at Cairo airport, a taxi driver tried to accost me in the airport, claiming to be from "The Tourism Ministry" and wanted to bring me to stay at a low star hotel. In Luxor I glanced at a newspaper on a news stand, and the stand attendant chased me for two blocks trying to sell me the newspaper.

Even on an organized tour, the tour guide made the bus stop at a souvenir shop where I am sure she got kickbacks on items bought. by her tourist group.

And on a Nile cruise, there was a jewelry salesman who also exchanged Egyptian pounds for US dollars at a black market exchange rate twice as high as that paid at banks.

In Athens, as I walked toward the entrance to a store, a large potted plant "fell" from a balcony above and just missed me. I suspect it was intentional.

OK Egypt is off my to-go list for now. I've heard about the camel jockeys around the pyramids trying to scam people into taking a photo on a camel but your experience sounds insane.

Either I go with a body guard / full time tour guide or I'll end up in jail lol. Bye pyramids! Egypt is wasted on the Egyptians it seems.

No thanks. I wouldn’t want to deal with the stress and aggravation.

I've been on a cruise ship once. Went to Alaska. The scenery is mind numbing. Otherwise the trip was meh. Best thing otherwise was I didn't have to stand watch.

How’s AirCanada liking that ?
Well documented Las Vegas transitioned from being a great getaway location, to a very expensive location. It is reported Disney Land and World are also having issues with domestic visitors, because at some point potential visitors are just not willing to get financially exploited.

There comes a time when exploiting tourist in every conceivable way catches up with the location doing the exploting.

I can't come up with a single reason to go to Las Vegas today.

Recently I saw a picture of two slices of pizza and a fountain soft drink at a strip casino for $27 USD before tax and tip and service charges(Harrah's Fulton Street food market). No wonder Canadians and others are traveling to Las Vegas less.
