I've got a GM crossover (Pontiac Vibe) with the Toyota mechanicals of a Corolla/Matrix.
There is a fair amount of confusion as to what type of coolant went into the Vibes at production. The owner's manual states to use Dexcool (orange), but the coolant in my 2005 is pink. From talking to Toyota, I do know that Toyota went from red in 2004 to long-life pink in the 2005 1ZZ/2ZZ engines. However, my vehicle was produced at NUMMI, which only assembles the Vibe (no Matrix). Thus, I wonder if the coolant they use is Toyota or GM's Dexcool w/pink dye.
Is there a testing facility that I could submit a sample to and find out exactly what this stuff is?
Thanks.
