Have you watched the Amazon Prime special "Guns - The Evolution of Firearms"?

I've started watching this series and I'm on Episode 3 of 7, where they're talking about the Civil War.. If you're a history nerd as well as firearm nerd, this series is just chock full of fascinating stuff!

One of the little tidbits I found interesting was how George Washington taught his troops about the "buck and ball" method of loading their muskets. He told them to add a few pellets of buckshot before adding the ball to barrel so, when fired, if the ball didn't kill your opponent...maybe the buckshot would!

I think I saw a preview of it. I honestly assumed it was another show that would claim there were no dangerous guns in the hands of private citizens until the AR-15 was invented.. I'll check it out it its worth a look.
I personally think it's really interesting.

So far, there is no hint of political overtones at all. It's a great mix of firearm history and the impacting changes on American History.
