I did a Google search on Hastings filters and it read that they were made by CLARCOR, which bought Hasting in 1995.It also reads that CLARCOR makes Purolator and Baldwin filters. If that's true then they must make Motorcraft also. Very interesting.

Yes, Clarcor owns (or at least did own at one point) all of those, but there is no shared DNA between Hastings/Baldwin and Purolator/Bosch/Mann/Motorcraft.

When you open the link, look at the toolbar and you will see CLARCORs link all the way to the right.

Explains the relationship with Purolator:

Which is owned by CLARCOR.

Not quite right. It is confusing, but the bottom line is the Clarcor does NOT own the Purolator brand of automotive filters.

Purolator automotive filters, the ones we talk about on BITOG, are owned by a joint venture of German automotive parts giants Bosch and Mann+Hummel under the name Purolator Filters NA LLC. You can see their tag line at the bottom of this page: http://www.pureoil.com/jobs/index.cfm

"Purolator Filters NA LLC, a joint venture company of The Bosch Group and The Mann+Hummel Group"
