I went on their official site, and typed in my vehicle information and found that this oil is highly recommended for my 2000 dodge durango V8, has anyone used this stuff before? because i am thinking of switching over to this stuff to save on fuel

Sure guys, there's probably no noticeable gain in fuel mileage. But the theory they base their marketing on is sound, they're not trying to scam anyone. If you did all short trips, and the car never got to full operating temp, you would be driving around in a thinner [but still thicker than any oil at full temp] oil and should be getting better mileage. I doubt that happens often, but it could. This is no different than when they went from 10w30 to 5w30 for FE and cold weather reasons.

But personally, I plan on picking up two gallons of this next month for use next winter. Those below 0 starts should be that much easier...

I am using Mobil 1 0W30 in our two new vehicles (Toyota Sienna and Corolla) to keep the warranty intact, and changing when the indicator light comes on (5K miles) Neither vehicle consumes any, and it stays clean.
Both started well this winter with a protracted cold spell that hit this winter, a lot of mornings below -20F, one at -34F and one at -40F. (Actually drove the old Escort on the -40 morning, it uses 0W20 Mobil 1

I have no reason to question the claimed 2% or so increased mileage, but doubt anyone gets consistent enough mileage to ever prove it outside the laboratory. The Sienna gets 27-28 mpg on the highway when going with the wind, 22-23 going in to it, and about 18 mpg when towing.- that pretty well buries a 2% change!

I will probably switch both vehicles to Mobil 1 0W20 and 20K changes after the warranty runs out, as that strategy has consistently taken our cars to the 300K mark and burn no oil and run like new - And my vehicles are used for "extreme" towing!!

I use this oil allot have it in two of my cars, hard to say if
there's any better mileage with it beeing winter out.use it it's
a great oil.

used it and still using it in a 2005 jeep liberty 3.7 liter V6. changed to 0-30 before driving to vegas, a 950 mile drive from here in montana. one way. if you can find it i posted all my findings on this thread under 0-30 for a 2005 jeep liberty. i gained about a mile per gallon under harsher driving conditions then the year before using royal purple.

i posted it 3/6/2009 if that helps you find it.

So does the manuals for both of these Toyotas actually 'say' that 0W30 is acceptable?

For the heck of it, I bought a 0w30 "Extreme" SJ Tri-Synthetic quart today. I was looking for some SL SuperSyn, but this lone quart was all the place had. I KNEW nobody would buy it if I did not. I'm looking to match a few qts of SL I have, and the shop guy was so helpfull...I felt bad so I bought it anyway. I know it's not the same formula, but wth. In it goes.
