Has anyone tried this oil?

The API starburst is conspicuously missing from the front of the bottle.
And no info over at PQIA.
And no API donut on the back.
I'll pass...

Maybe it's safe for carburetors and intake manifold...

VR-1 is cheaper. And superior. Albeit not cat safe, due to the global warming inducing, cat poisoning, earth killing big bad dose of ZDDP. What would this be going into? Doesn’t seem suited to anything in your signature; let me clarify... there are better things suited to the vehicles in your signature for a better value.

This oil lists ACEA A3/B4-04... That spec was from 2004. It's 2018. I'm not sure if that ACEA spec is even current anymore. It maybe but but I don't know that for sure. Kind of similar to how API SJ is still technically current. And as been mentioned this oil doesn't have the API donut or starburst on it.

I'd pass on this has well. Time for you to run some of the Super S oil. Which is current, API SN approved. And way cheaper as well. Win-win there.

I was ordering stuff on summitracing.com and saw this is their clearance section, never saw it before so thought I would ask. I would never buy it

Well it's good to show this on here... If for no other reason than to show as to why it's not really the best idea to run this product.

Hi BBHero, good to see you around.

For the 2004 ACEA sequences, it's well out of date. We are up to the 2016 ACEA sequences, before that it was 2012, before that it was 2008, etc.
Apart from the change over period, you can only claim the up to date sequences.

The back panel says that it "Exceeds API SM...and GM4718M," which the owner manual specs for my 2007 Cad! Apparently this stuff was sitting on the shelf for about a decade. It is made by Torco, so prob work fine for that application. If they have an HM version and drop the price to 1.50/qt I will try it in the Cad.

No wonder it is in clearance. Not even listed on Edelbrocks's website anymore.

What is the point of it? Its really expensive. It isn't high ZDDP for their flat tappet cams. It isn't API so you can't really trust it on a newer car.

With Vic dead the company is lost. Edelbrock wont survive just slapping their name on to things.
