Has anyone here ever written a children's book?

It is, but it is almost impossible to be successful with so many others doing it. A friend of mine wrote 7 books and self published. They are weird books that are time travel/romance novels. I think he makes about $20 a month from them

I don’t think this is new. Only the most successful authors ever made a living writing. For most it’s always been more of a hobby / labor of love.

Did she have author copies printed and try to do signings at indie book stores and such?

No.

I dont think we have indépendant book stores here
