Has anyone done a UOA on a Ford Escort?

I looked through about 135 pages of the forum for some results on different oils in a 2.0L SOHC Escort engine and didn't find one Escort that had a UOA. There may be a way to search it, but I'm new to the site and wasn't aware of it. I know the Escort is a poor mans car, but surely I'm not the only poor man here. I would be especially interested in seeing the results of a UOA on such an engine using Pennzoil Platinum. The original recommended oil change interval for my '97 Escort is 5000 miles. I've always used dino (Exxon Superflo 10w40) and changed it every 3000 miles regardless of how long the oil has been in the crankcase, (only 8 changes in 13 years) because the car only has about 26K miles and I was thinking of changing it over to Pennzoil Platinum. Most of it's mileage is through steady speed highway trips of 250+ miles.

Heck , if I win the lottery I'll buy it from you just to disprove that theory.

I'm guessing that PP will serve any you throughout a wide spectrum of driving applications.

Thanks TaterandNoodles for the links to the oil analysis. The reason I was interested in seeing an analysis of this engine using Pennzoil Platinum was just to try to get an idea of what kind of oil change interval would be best using the PP. Since there doesn't seem to one I'm open to the ideas of some of you who have a better idea of the way PP holds up. In 33 years of driving I've never used synthetic, so I'm not really familiar with it's capabilities. I know some people run some synthetics as high as 25K miles and some change them about every 5K. So what does everyone think? I personally don't think the length of time the oil spends in the crankcase is a large issue unless the car is being run mostly on short trips which isn't the case with this particular car. Other than when it goes on a longer trip of 250+ miles it usually doesn't come out of the garage more than half a dozen times a year.

With driving that car only on longer trips, it has only averaged getting an oil change using the dino (Exxon Superflo 10w40) every year and a half and there's not sign of sludge and the valve train looks as clean as it did the day I drove it home new.

I have an '88 Escort that has never had anything run in it other than dino (various brands of 10w40 and currently running Pennzoil 20w20 that I bought from a guy at a flea market) and it has 505K miles on the original engine without ever being rebuilt. It's currently using a quart of oil every 1000-1200 miles. I've been using LC-20 in it for the last 30K miles and letting it go their recommended change interval of 10K and so far haven't seen any negative effects. I figured a car with 500K miles on it was a good one to experiment with, if I ruin it I know not to use the product in anything else, if there are no problems after long term use and long OCI I'll try them in my better cars..
