Car is a 2003 with the v6.If car sits four 2 or more days it will not start until you have to crank engine over for at least for or five times. Was wondering if any one would know what would cause this.

possibly a check valve in the fuel system is stuck open allowing fuel to drain back into the tank after sometime, it would then take some time for fuel to get to the injectors, i had a similar problem with a grand cherokee, i put some lucas fuel stabilizer in it and it made it a lot better. maybe the extra lubrication the lucas provides freed up the stuck valve, but i may have also gotten very lucky with such an easy fix.

Such suggestion derives out of casual conveniences, doesn't it?

As someone with lots of Mitsu experience I would sugguest that you turn the key to the "ON" position but do not crank the engine. Wait 15 seconds then turn it "OFF". Repeat this about 5 times and then crank and see if it starts easier. If it does it's a fuel pressure problem and I would check your fuel pressure regulator on the engine. It will be attached to the fuel rail and to a vacuum source.

+1
Let us know if this works.

Another problem with Mitsu that I see stayed with the "design." My wife's '93 diamante we ended up replacing the starter at close to $190 P&L. I'm glad it's gone.

It's never the starter that goes, it's little copper contacts or the spring and these parts are cheap and universal with some Toyota starters.

Most people don't know this and replace the whole starter when Mitsu and Toyota sell the parts indavidually.

Ask Falcon_LS he just had this problem and I saved him a ton of money!

Yep the solenoid brass contacts wear out in the Denso starters. There is a kit available to fix it. Done it myself in about an hour.
