Might be the incentive to purchase the Harbor Freight house brand smoke machine. Thanks for posting this!
I bought this basic smoke machine from Amazon 2 years ago and it works like a charm: SOLARY Smoke Machine. I highly endorse it for the price which is ~10% of the HF ICON machine. The only drawback is that it doesn't have a flowmeter, but my diagnostics involve looking for a leak location, not the specific leak rate.
