Hantavirus

I only had one booster. My reaction was so severe to the shot. I was never so sick for 4 days after the Covid jab so I stopped. I still question it.

But I also had friends and even some family members telling me 1billion people are going to die from it and there are tracking devices in t he vaccines. So yeah....as usual it's all over the place LOL
 
Mice are weird.
I say that as someone living in a home with mice issues that come and go. We used to have a bad problem with mice /mice poop/mice chewing stuff up. Traps and online mice deterrent suggestions were useless. Keeping a clean home helps as with putting food stuff away or in containers . But they don't always go after food products.

Currently in a good year with no mice droppings/no sightings of mice, no chew damages . Just like that, they disappeared . Not the first time, where they just go away and don't return. No cat , nothing really has not changed inside the home. I have a 7 year old Husky and he does sleep inside , except on the warmer Summer nights (I have an enclosed small 5'X8 back porch fixed up for him with blankets/house /food/water/windows for fresh air/carpet over vinyl flooring).

My big worry is I will need to clean out two outside storage sheds in my covered carport. In there, mice/rats have ruined Everything over the years with their poop and piss. Lots of stuff needs to be hauled out and loaded up to go to the City dump. Then I have to shovel mouse/rat poop. I did this once before, at least 10 years ago.
When I go at it again, I will wear full safety gear....safety glasses/ face mask/dish gloves/boots/coveralls. And eventually need to spray down the inside of these two sheds with a home made mixture of bleach + water +whatever (Dettol?) , set up fans , etc.

There was never any food products in these two sheds. Just some tools, tool carts on wheels, old paint cans, etc. The vermin still held their parties , goes to show they do not seek out shelter with food 24/7 to do their destruction.
 
If you ever drink out of one of these, you'll probably be immune to hantavirus.

Why is it that Todays news is all editorial vs straight reporting on politics, diseases, etc? Do they benefit somehow. I do know that big pharma does commercials on all media.

Try a balcony cabin and adjust your expectations to an easy getaway from an awful Ontario winter.
Cruises are always enjoyable.

I always tell friends when going to Paris etc.: don’t go with plan to see everything! Go with plan to wake up, go to local coffee shop, check people out, go to one place to visit, get nice lunch to sit and enjoy the moment.
Then come back again if you like it and visit stuff you did not, but don’t miss that part of slowing down, drinking coffee for an hour, and just strolling streets.
Jumping from one place to another for few hours? If someone asked me where have you been, I wouldn’t know what to say.

You are so right. Don't over-schedule a trip. You are on a vacation after all
Take your time and plan an extended visit to any site.
You don't want to rush through the various sites in which you can spend hours.
You see tour groups being rushed through places like the Doge's Palace or the Picasso Museum when you should spend the best part of a day enjoying the experience.
You can always plan another trip to either Venice or Barcelona or anywhere else.

Because they want to hook the public and draw them into a story. Sadly, the majority doesn’t admit it, but they use the news as entertainment. 24 hours a day on their smart devices or their streaming service whether they wake up in the middle of the night or get stuck in traffic or even a traffic light or just chilling out on the sofa.

They’re tuning into the news. What does the news media get? Ratings and with ratings comes more advertising revenue. The news is a corporation and its obligation is to its shareholders. That is to generate as much income as humanly possible and as cheap as possible.
Ethics are out the window, draw them in at any cost truthful or not worry about that later.

Investigative reporting is dead for the most part, heck you could trust some YouTube personalities better for investigative reporting.
Mainstream media just generates “stories” that they know the public interest will be captured. It doesn’t matter how accurate it is.

Which leads us to this, the ability for American citizens to think critically seems to be lost forever.
The majority rules and they have no idea what they are doing, except being shaped by the media and social media.

So ends today’s rant 🤔

A lot of people feel pressured to tick a check mark one after another. But some of my best experiences came from just being there and soaking it in. Maybe grabbing a chair and just taking in the view in a national park. Granted, I recall when Yosemite had a hantavirus outbreak. That was a matter of rodents in the crawlspace of several tent cabins.

The recent hantavirus outbreak aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship brings back vivid memories of a patient I treated during the 2012 Yosemite hantavirus outbreak as an infectious disease doctor.​

That summer, 10 visitors contracted the virus from deer mice infesting the tent cabins in Curry Village.​

For us, the best approach is a leisurely one. We do not intend to operate as though we were at work.
Look at what you think you'd like to see (easy to do online) and then determine what works with plenty of time to see the sight.
You cannot see everything anywhere in a week, so have a list of things you'd like to visit and go from there.
We could not get into Segrada Familia while in Barcelona, for example. That was okay, since the Cathedral of Barcelona is an even more engrossing compound and one in which we spent hours.
It is always possible to return to anyplace where there are must-see things that you missed and it is always better to view things in depth than to breeze through them.

But Norway rats (which are ironically native to east Asia) do carry the Seoul variant of hantavirus.

Seoul virus is a type of hantavirus that is carried primarily by Norway rats (Rattus norvegicus). The virus has been found in both pet rats and wild rat populations around the world, including the United States. Seoul virus-infected rats shed the virus in their urine, feces, and saliva.​
