Hi,
I have an iPhone 4 and blackberry tour 9630.
I've been trying to use a common handsfree set.
I own a klipsch s4i, supposedly made for iPhone.
When plugged into my phone, the headphones and controls work, but the microphone on the headset does not work! On the blackberry it works fine.
I bought an etymotics single-channel handsfree with a real microphone. It has a 2.5mm cable, so I got a 2.5 to 3.5mm converter, but it doesn't work for the mic on either and audio only on the iPhone.
What gives? I'd like to get to the bottom of this. The most annoying thing is the fact that a headset with mic does not disable the mic on the iPhone, which lets all kinds of background noise in.
Suggestions?
