Just talked to him today. He has about 5K on the tires. We had an unusually wet winter and he said the wet traction was horrendous, worse than the worn OE tires. According to him, he was spinning the tires at stoplights.
And this is coming from someone who isn’t picky at all.
That is issue I have with GY. They make some really good stuff and some absolute junk under their name. In Europe, they separate budget stuff from their name.
When one buys Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Pirelli, you always get premium quality. They have their own subsidiaries that they use for junky, cheap stuff.
As OEM tires that came on our Kia. So far so good. Wet traction is better than every other GY tire I have tried, and on par with some of the best tires I have had. They are quiet, get good fuel economy, and ride decent. I don't know about snow traction yet, but the siping is decent.
