Been considering the same move with our 2000 Accord V6 for the same reasons. I get the same sort of boring tests with our V6 on Castrol 5W30, though I make my own "Syntec Blend" by using 1qt Syntec and 4 qts GTX. Been running a 1 year OCI that way, around 6K miles (more by time than miles). This time, I'm stretching it out to 7500 miles absolute, which will be 15-16 months. Will definitely do a used oil analysis on that drain! I have some 5W20 GTX and Syntec bought for my Ford, but since I ave some other oil for it now, I may just do a swaparoo and put it into the Honda.

1 Liter of oil in 5100 miles of use. I guess your Civic isn't the only one that consumed a bunch of oil when using 5w20.

Our old 1998 Civic drank oil when I used 5w20, switched back to 10w30 and consumption went down to zero.

When I first switched it over to GTX 5w20 it didn't use any oil though, it was only once I switched it to Petro Canada's 5w20 that the consumption began.
