GTI VR6 oil analysis

Motor has about 7000kms

this oil has about 4000kms on it. Amsoil Series 2000 20W50 which is now discontinued.

A little worried about the viscosity if i go past 4000kms now though. Should i be?

Whats your sump temp when racing? That oil should have a good HTHS > 4cp which should keep the engine alive - at least from an oil viscosity standpoint. As long as you are not seeing over 120c sump often it should do fine and be good for 7000km.

Around the track im usually around 116 to 126 oil temp. on the street i never see above 104
