Does anyone know of a chart/list of the available synthetic car oils and their base group type? What I mean by that is the oil Group III, Group IV, etc.

Thanks!

David

No not really that I know of there maybe some lists but take with a grian of salt as they say.

there are a lot of guess based on MSDS sheet and "general Ideas" but with GII and GPIII now being used in ALL SM oils the line to SYN gets blurred Me I think a GPIII is a syn.

Any anyway as I have said before NO one knows exactly what % of whatever oil is used UNLESS you blended it, depending on a lot of conditions base oil ratio WILL vary.

AND

1 does not matter buy by the Spec SM lets say
2 by the vis
3 by the price

Mobil 1, Redline, Amsoil, Royal Purple are all Group IV/V and all the other synthetics are Group III....this applies to made in the USA oils.
