Green coolant good for 5 years now?

5 years should be good enough.

I have seen 10+ years on OEM Toyota coolant still test good using coolant testing strips but I still change it regardless because I have seen plenty of coolant deposits inside the engine when I rebuild them, so my experience has taught me to err on the side of caution.

You'd do better to just run a cheap Dexclone. No nasty silicates to worry about.

I have been going five years for decades using the old green and never had a problem.. I sure don't waste money on 50/50 mixes. They are only a few bucks cheaper than pure for a gallon jug and your basically only getting a half gallon of coolant.

Stuff is like $10/gal. Wasn't much more for the concentrate. We have crap well water and i didnt feel like mixing up with distilled water

Grandpa likes green coolant. Meanwhile the rest of the world has moved onto 10 year coolants. Prestone Max is good for 15 years.

They still use green as factory fill. Both my polaris rzr and my Kubota tractor have basic green coolant. Same with my 350 drop in crate engine. Nobody is going to spend $20/gal when they can spend $10
