I know this has been discussed, but I haven't found the right answer during my searches. Green air filters advertises 5 micron filtering and at the same time is using Cotton & only two layers... sounds like I'm missing something. My K&N was cotton right? and it gave great performance, much better mileage, but dirty oil. I'm this close to getting the AFE Pro Dry S OEM drop in filter but before dropping any coin wanted to double check the alternatives. That's when I found the ad from Green filters.

Any words of wisdom about "Green Filters"????

Thanks

JOE

never heard of them and frankly I couldn't care less. In the past I've used K&N before and while I loved the low-revv howl during acceleration (and also the savings for not using disposables), it turned me off when I discovered elevated silicon in UOA in my B6 block so I gave up on it and switched back to factory.

I've been true to factory filters since then for all I care now is longevity and not "sound".

My 2c's worth.

Q.

GREEN FILTER is a very good filter many guys i know use them ,and i have taken my K@N off my Vehicle will be getting one, much better filtering and reusable.

I think most of us would tell you not to bother and just go with your gut and the Pro Dry.

I would look into one of these...but my current car has 113k and is 12 years old. And the filter is $70! Ow...

Maybe when I have a new car one day.

It'd be nice if they made those for my car.

Same here. I couldn't get one for my wife's 2007 escape.

I was glad to put an AEM SRI on my mazda6 mainly because that came with a dryflow cone filter. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to put one on my car, either.

Can't get one for my '95 Integra either. I just use Napa Gold or Purolators instead

I honestly thought about doing that as well, but the claims are less that 5hp on the car I have now and the car I plan on getting and would move it to.

Yeah, the gains on my car are around 10-11hp. That made it an easier decision than just getting it for the filter.

Used them twice now with the rear end sensor detecting some incr in performance and deff more intake noise. Also done one UOA with it and not seen much difference between the Green and paper in dirt protection. Check out my UOAs for the Nissan VQ. Sil was higher, but not much considering the Green was used during break in when the VQ leaches Sil into the oil.

I still question the ability of Green Air Filters to be able to filter at the 5 micron level. They claim 5 microns on their website. Is there a universal testing company that can verify these claims and compare truthfully against all filters?
