Do they use DLC coatings at all? A really good friend is into sprint cars and swears by it on wristpins and valve stems.

Yeah that's amazing.... And thank goodness Mike's trans did hold up under such severe circumstance. I know the guys talk about being "burned down" at the starting line. And they mention how high their trans get and are after a run. Joe aka Dominator has blown up his trans after being hot lapped two back to back runs. His opponent in that street race should have waited because it didn't help either of them go faster.
Like you know exceptionally well... Exceptionally high temps equals bad things. However... You all blend tremendously awesome oils that hold up under extreme situations.
I have to say... Though... I was pulling for Ryan Martin to win that no prep Kings championship. He was SO close the year before. And for him to lose the second year in such a close fashion had to have been tough. I am glad Ryan won the next one though.
He did have to beat Scott Taylor in that final race event to do it... Ryan had it wrapped up after beating Kye Kelley. In the final race he beat Scott Taylor to win that last event.
Scott Taylor runs quite strong and he does a darn good job on his tune most of the time. Scott having HPL certainly will help him run awesome and give him durability which is a must in the no prep Kings series.
The guys at Triangle speed shop have hooked up with Scott. They help tune the car. They ran the small tire car “hired help” that was so dominant. Smart smart guys. They make a good team.
DLC coatings are used a lot in pro stock cars and bikes.
Joe Woods is a fantastic guy. He works really hard on a budget. He typically also has some of the worst luck.
Seems like it isn't as well known as other coatings. I had to dig to do research on it when I found out about it.
Diamond Like Coatings are used in some areas. Where or if they are used, varies with the team, IME.
