I have been using rubber tube caps to keep grease nipples clean but the rubber deteriorates from the petroleum-based grease.

I googled "Grease Nipple Caps" and came up with listings for overseas companies -- many from the UK,an Italian and a Scandinavian company. None were from the US or Canada.

Alemite lists these caps but provide absolutely no info or pictures of it.

Searching Bitog produced no results at all.

Does anyone know of a good source for these caps?

Contact Janet Jackson for nipple caps.

Sorry, can't help it...

Here you go, George:

http://www.nipguards.com/irp10a.html

"NipGuards adhere directly to the base of the nipple and are 100% guaranteed not to fall off until you decide to remove them."

Please share a picture when you try them out.

I wonder if you could order them from an OEM. My John Deere farm tractors come with hard plastic zerk covers. What about the ones used on brake caliper bleeders.....again check with a OEM rebuilder.

Try googling ZERK CAPS: here's one USA made: http://www.fittingsandadapters.com/greaszerfit.html ON SALE!!!

...who I'm sure had some very interesting pictures on their website. Those frisky Europeans!

I had a hard time finding these also. When I did, they were hard plastic and came in red. I wanted traditional black, but when I put the red ones on I liked them because they were easy to spot. These caps have a 'hinge' that fits over the shoulder of the grease fitting. You pop the cup off and it doesnt get lost. I don't remember where I got it, but think it was one of the Corvette aftermarket suppliers.

mcmaster carr or grainger sells them by the bag full.

from mcmaster.com:
pn: 1098K12
grease fitting duct caps
color: black
qty: 100
$8.94

They are on page 2135 of their current catalog. you can punch the pn or page number into their search and they will come up.
