Hey guys, have CTSV calipers on my Ws6.

Installing some new pads and rotors while its in storage.

I have available to me :
Permatex Orange Ceramic Brake grease
CRC black brake grease
A few packs of Moly 77

I plan on putting thin layer of the Permatex orange on the pad backs, the pad contact points to caliper and on the caliper pins.

Any suggestions?

If you don’t drive this car in winter and salt, skip the lube on contact points and the back of pads. Maybe put a very thin coat on the caliper pistons where they touch the pads, but that’s it.

This type of caliper style works best dry, but cleaned up very well and with hardware in good condition, especially the pins.

It barely sees water, and I take them apart every storage season to give them a clean up.

I ordered new pin kit for these.

That’s all they need, I do the same with my motorcycles.
Also, I noticed they trap brake dust and dirt a lot more than the floating style calipers, probably because everything is sort of trapped inside and blocked by the rotor. So any excess lubricant will just make even more mess.
