So for 2 weeks, what should I try to do? So far I have planned to searing sous vide steak outdoor without smoking up the house, and hot pot on the table.

Anything that you can think of? I have a gas stove and I don't want to keep the fan running for long so induction is a good chioce for that.

Mentioned it a few days ago that my nephew burned a pot making popcorn. I have a 36" CAFE' induction cooktop and the center element is 3700 watts and the front right is 3200 watts. He didn't think it'd heat up so quick and so hot. The 8" 3200 watt element on it has surprised us a few times. They also don't emit as much wasted heat to cook and boil stuff.

I assume the single unit 120V plug in portables are not as powerful.

Out of all the things you can get out of the public library, I think yours not only takes the cake, it also takes some steak too.

Let us know how it turns out.
There are some quite interesting things you can check out from the library here: kill a watt is obvious, there's also video games (switch), board game, gardening tools, sewing machine, auto repair hand tool, park pass (the one you can go into state park for free), bike rack.

Pretty cool I would say.
