Got a mouse in my garage

I use cheese and snap traps. Little buggers around here just lick the peanut butter off and make me look like a fool. They gotta really go after the cheese and boom dead mouse.

Tootsie roll on a good ole wire snap trap works like a charm.

I have seen Victor ones fail where mouse can steal a bait, while dollar store ones never fail - go figure!

Using glue and sticking cat/dog food as a bait to the mouse trap work too.

Ive used peanut butter but it's only about 50% successful on the old wood snap traps.

On plastic traps where there's a little well, PB works well.

I like the snickers and tootsie roll idea. Will pursue that. Thanks!

To each his own. I used them once, but i just don't see those as humane.

Didn't want to deal with dead mice. Got one of these from Home Depot and placed it in a kitchen drawer. Would release the mice into the woods next to the neighbours house. An hour later there was two or three more inside. Think I got over 30 of them in 2 weeks.

Peanut butter and 6 snap traps is the most effective solution I've ever found. Sometimes it takes a little while before the mice become accustomed to the location of the traps, then they can't resist the peanut butter. I'd get 3 mice per night with such a setup.

I had absolutely zero luck with the above catch and hold traps. They did not ever go in.

The regular traps with peanut butter work the best. I place a trap on each side of the large garage door.

I release them near work 9 miles away.

I appreciate your compassion and Atikovi too.

I vote a cat. We used to have mice, got cats, no more mice at all. When we moved into the place we are at now there were lots of mice, and now there are none.
