a friend sold me 9 qts of RedLine 75w90 synthetic gear oil for $6/qt. He had no need for it.
What would the NS version be deficient at vs regular?Cool deal, but the NS version is kinda limited in its applications. If you’ve got something that requires that kind of fluid, awesome for you. Just be sure that you’re not blindly using that in something that requires “regular” 75w90.
Since I’m a nice guy, I went to the Redline website for you. NS is intended for specific-application transaxles that require GL5, not differentials. See below:What would the NS version be deficient at vs regular?

I’m not employed by Redline, nor am I an oil blender like MolaKule, Foxtrot08, or High Performance Lubricants. I gave you info directly from the source, and Redline clearly states there are differences, along with specific recommendations for do’s and don’ts for each fluid. So it lacks additives for a limited slip rear end?
Isn't subaru MT one of its applications?but the NS version is kinda limited in its applications.
The NS version, yes. Along with Porsche & Ferrari.Isn't subaru MT one of its applications?
just because its not their recommended fluid aka " top choice"Not usable in most applications
