It's nice to know the experts think the dogs won't suffer any long term psychological consequences.

They can try and drag my German Shepard to the incinerator for the good of the planet. Good luck!

Come to think of it, my cat would probably put up a better fight.

I imagine that they have a pretty lousy carbon foot print per pound if price indicates the energy put into feeding them. The market should be saturated for pet related food stuff. Some of the treats are more expensive per pound than beef jerky or even prime cut raw beef.

When I had a dog, it got enthusiastic when it saw food too.

Who was born in a house full of pain.
Who was trained not to spit in the fan.
Who was told what to do by the man.
Who was broken by trained personnel.
Who was fitted with collar and chain.
Who was given a pat on the back.
Who was breaking away from the pack.
Who was only a stranger at home.
Who was ground down in the end.
Who was found dead on the phone.
Who was dragged down by the stone.

....Many humans have a larger 'carbon footprint' than what they contribute back to society...where do we draw the line....

When we run out of places to stand. Maybe we can evolve this into some conceptual "carbon rain forest" ..where the last generation provides the base for the next in an otherwise spent environment. Millions of people carrying their own carbon load ..and the one for the person above them.

It all sounds very natural ..rather Prête á porter, if you ask me.

Sorry, thought it was a ridiculous article, but let's not get into a discussion of carbon or global warming. Just a dumb article to read, and an attempt at a sort of a joke on the thread...

Thanks.

I wasn't trying to start a GW debate but rather point out that many pets serve more of a purpose in this world than some humans.

HOWEVER

I wouldn't go near as far as Cass Sunstein (Obama admin czar) who believes that pets, wild animals and livestock have 'Rights'.
