Good battery, good price?

Looking for some help, tips, advice. Should I use AAP and get an autocraft with their 35% off or go with other brand/store? Current AC delco starting to give me trouble.

Last day for AAP 35% off code I got in e-mail.

Can choose from their
autocraft gold, 3yr+2yr (142.99)
Autocraft silver, 2 yr (126.99)
Autocraft gold AGM 3 Yr (166.99)

2009 silverado 5.3L in Michigan.

I have had good success with Autocraft batteries. The ones I have were manufactured by Johnson Controls and made it past the warranty period.

What about Costco? I've had good luck with their batteries.

If you go with AAP check some other codes might be able to get more discount.

. Looks like the one from that post (expired) and the one I got by email both have max savings of $50.

Looks like I will try the AC gold for $10 more than the silver after comparing discounts. ($92.54)

I have a silver and it's great, but it's from the era when they sold "econo", silver, and gold. Since then, there may have been some "grade inflation" to make the ultra.

Keep an eye out if you could possibly wait for a $50 off 100 coupon, if that benefits you more than 35%.

These days with many batteries made by very few mfgrs we simply choose the one with the longest non-pro-rated warranty period and a competitive price.

Works well for us, batteries are pretty reliable from all the majors...

Almost, I would avoid Exide.

I would certainly check for corrosion and then have system checked before I bought a new battery.

Consumer Reports likes the WalMart line of batteries.

I like Wal-Mart Batteries made by Johnson Controls. Never had any trouble out of them and I get the cheap ones, not the Maxx series. Even bought one for the lawnmower, it was also a good deal.

I only buy Dekka batteries. Best battery for the $$$$....hands down. You gotta be crazy to buy a battery from AZ or AAP. Usually from a boat store/marina. Walmart Maxx good too.

I just stop in at the local pullapart, sort through the shelf until I find an appropriate recently manufactured battery for $20 and call it good. Even comes with a 30-day exchange warranty.

Even a great battery manufacture's battery can be a bad one if it has sat for a year uncharged.
