Wednesday I have an appointment with Dent Wizard to get a small door ding removed from my passanger rear door on my xB. They are quoting about $79 to remove the dent, which was caused by my own mother in our garage

Anyway, anybody have any good/bad experience with them? I keep my paint as good as possible (car detailing as a side hobby), so as you could imagine, my three year old car has paint that looks better than most new :) I am worried about their tools causing scratching/marring around the surface, if they work from the outside. Just curious to any input from anybody who has had this done.

Appreciate your help!

My old roommate had a dent about the size of a softball in his plastic bumper that a similar outfit fixed. I wasn't sure the paint would handle so much movement, but it did, and looked good afterward.

I'll be interested to hear how it goes.

I haven't used this company, but I have used similar and I'm pretty sure they work it out from the inside, massaging the dent out with a bar slid in through the window weather stripping. You may notice a little distortion if the metal was stretched or the clearcoat/paint was cracked, but I bet you will be happy with it.

I had Dent Wizard remove a small ding on my dark blue expedition.
even under shop lights its difficult to tell even though i know right where it was.
Nothing was taken apart,i think you will be well satisfied.

Never been to Dent Wizerd, but have it done several times. Like anything else, the result depends on the ability and experience of the tech. Tools don't mar because they work from the inside. Depending on the location of the dent, they can either go between the window and the door to massage a dent on the door. Or, they might have to drill a small hole and fill it with a body plug after, unnoticeable.

I've had good results using a guy that visits the local dealers, and his price is generally lower than DW.

If the guy is any good, I think you will be happy with the results.

Well the ding is very slight (so no paint damage should be there), and you can not even really feel it with your hand its so small. However, I notice it so much due to the car being black...

It is on a flat panel, about 1/4 down from the window. They should have easy access with a tool from behind going through the window.

Can't wait to get it removed honestly. Eyesore for me :P

Companies that use on site repair techniques can be very good.
They often are very reasonable compared to having the area fixed by standard body repair techniques.
Expect 85 to 100% right.
This type of repair is limited by what actually happened - it may not end up perfect.

I had the "Dent Guy" here in the Dallas area come out to remove one from my wife's Acadia. He did an excellent job. I then showed him a very small ding on my mustang on the rear wheel well. He said he couldn't get behind it but could probably improve it some. He did it so well that I cannot detect it. He worked on it quite a while then only charged $85 for both. I was impressed and gave him a hundred.

i have used this service or similar a few times, unbelievable how well they turned out. Some they cannot do and inform you upfront but i was amazed at how good a job they do.

I used the Louisville KY Dent Doctor shop to remove a dent about the size of a tennis ball behind the LR wheel of my Mazdaspeed 3. I first checked with a local non-franchise shop and they told me that they would have to drill an access hole and they could only eliminate @80% of the dent. Dent Doctor didn't drill a single hole and the dent is barely noticeable.

I have a Paintless dent removal guy here and he is amazing. Completely unoticable but he owns his own company and does all his own work. No newbies or inexperienced guys. Never had to have him drill on any of my cars.

Just got back... The work is PERFECTION.

Removed the ding in about 5-10 minutes and no sign it ever had any damage. VERY satisfied with the work. Def do again (hopefully not though!).

Plus the guy was extremely nice and we talked cars while we waited for the PDR guy to show up :D

Here is a picture of the "after"... Sorry, no before picture... But as you can see, no longer a dent. I am sure you can imagine a before :P

Hate to bump an old post, but I am going back to Dent Wizard yet again... This time I will get some before/after for everybody. I will get the "before" picture this week sometime, hopefully to get it fixed this weekend!

Girlfriend and I went to dinner at this Indian place... Parked away from any activity like always and like clockwork, someone HAD to park RIGHT next to me. And of course, was within a foot or two... I had a bad feeling. When I got home, I saw the ding... Bigger than the first one I had

ONLY car to come to the lot since we got there... And HAD to pick the ONE spot right next to me (20+ available).

Can you call the police for something like that and file a report? Just curious. I mean, for future reference? I was 100% sure it was them... Or will they say tough luck it is just a car? I think THEY should be paying the $100-120 for repair, not me. Next time, I think I will call. It is [censored]!
