My trucks at the dealer and I was thinking about having them do the oil change but they only have 10W30 and I use 5W30. Would I notice any difference in driving? Would the vehicle be affected in a bad way? And is Delco a good brand of oil?

Thanks in advance guys.

In my opinion, you should only use 10w30 (or thicker depending on vehicle, miles, etc) year round in Texas. Thats all I use here in the Detroit area.

What year and what was the truck originally spec'd for? If it was spec'd for 30 grade oil, 5w30 gives better protection during cold starts, 10W-30 will be less prone to sheering than a 5w30 will. At operating temps they will both perform the same. In TX cold start protection isn't much of an issue, but unless the vehicle is very old it was probably calls for 5w30 oil, and that is what I'd use. Not sure about the oil brand, if it's SM rated its good oil. Opinions vary, 10W-30 isn't going to hurt it.

In Texas, I don't think you'd even notice a difference, other then it's more shear stable.

That's a no-brainer for Texas. 10w-30 all the way. I would go so far as to say they're doing you a favor by running the 10w-30 over the 5w30.
