Going from 10w30 to 5w30

My friend gave me some mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 and was wondering if it would be ok to run in my 97 Dodge ram 1500 with 112,808 miles on it? I usually run the recommended 10w30.

You're A-OK. It's not a concern.

Makes no difference. They're both 30wt at operating temp, but you'll get slightly better cold-start performance with the 5w.

I switched from 10W30 to 5W30 year round @ over 200k miles...no issues whatsoever.
