GM4718 v. GM6094

[DAC17]

Does anyone know if oils that are spec'd to meet GM6094 will also meet GM4718? Castrol Syntec is only labeled as meeting 6094 but, in an e-mail they sent me, they said it was also good for 4718. Anyone know if this is correct?

GM6094 is a cold pump spec & GM4718 is the corvette spec for heat i beleave. Correct me if i am wrong. That doesn't mean an oil can't meet both spec's.Usaully oil companys love to claim the GM4718 corvette spec on there bottles for the uneducated.If it's good for a corvette it's got to be good for my car or truck! Check there website for the specs on the oil you are intrested in. It' probaly a 5w30 or 10w30 to meet GM4718 specs.

Amsoil meets the Vette spec...just didnt go through the GM certification...I agree...you can take the spec and shop via the specs from various oil manufacturers...I don't blame oil manufacturers for not going through the certification...heck they change every 20 minutes and it cost lots of money...
