GM Trans Thermostat

17 Chevy truck. Should i flip the pill or install a Trans Go or some other device to bypass the trans fluid thermostat ?
Trans runs pretty warm right now.

If i bought the updated thermostat from GM how much cooler will the trans run ? Thanks guys !

What are the actual temps you see? How often? Is this city or highway? Towing? Is this a 1500, 2500, etc.?

You are fine with the GM upgraded part. On GM one's I have installed we noticed anywhere from a 10-20 degree drop on average. The Trans Go models are great too but not much (if any) cooler over the GM one in my opinion. I will rest my final opinion on whatever my Texan neighbor @clinebarger says as he has more experience in Transmission then I do and is well respected.

Superior Solutions transmission thermostat dropped the temperature on my 2019 6L80e over 30 degrees. From 196F to 160F. 30 minute job and about $40 on Amazon.

I use a 1/4" npt tap to cut threads in the block & install a 1/4" pipe plug...Leave all the thermostat bits out.

1500 truck and trans temps might hit 190 or 180 just driving normally. This is my sons truck and only has 19,000 miles on it.
We have decided to install the Trans -Go kit. Looks simple and effective.
