On Sept 17 2008 Obama was still a senator, and the first and hugest AIG bailout went through.

From what I remember, the original Bush bailout was the one with no strings attached. The one that actually went through was rushed though.

Oh boy, that's an understatement! Ever witnessed a Moskvitch?
Anyone want a Lada Riva? Somebody?
I was thinking more along the lines of K-car. The K-car appeased gov't as a practical car to secure the loan money, but was phased out for more exciting products once Chrysler got back on their feet.

What are you trying to prove with that link?

The world oil consumption is growing. That has nothing to do with middle class jobs going oversees, it has to do with a general global commercialization. How much greater would the consumption have been if the jobs had stayed here?

You can't put 2+2 together?

You can't figure that had those jobs stayed here the energy required to support them would have been equal or greater?

I've been paid to drive more cars than most people could ever identify. Based on that, I'm not so sure I wouldn't choose the Lada over the K-car.

Then again, I had the chance to drive a Mk1 Dodge Caravan which had a tuned 2.2 turbo in it. Holy shyte, that thing was insane! When the turbo got on the boost it was like Rick Moranis, as "Dark Helmet", ordering up "LUDICROUS SPEED!!!"
