Hi,
I have a 98 S-10, with the HO 4.3L V6.
I am curious about what the PCV tube connects to.
The PCV valve is in the left cylinder bank. It comes straight up, and connects to a hard-plastic tube, that has a right angle in it.
This tube goes to a right-angle rubber boot that connects to a round hard plastc thing that connects into the intake that is in the 'valley' between the two cylinder banks.
Attached also to this round hard plastic thing was another vacuum tube (5/32 tube). It went, via a check valve, to under the fender, I believe it is part of the 4x4 system.
I am curious if anyone knows what Im talking about, and knows what that black round thng that the PCV line connects to is, and what its purpose is.
I was thinking of sucking some seafoam through the very small vacuum tube that connects to this thing... but since its going through this plastic part, Im kind of afraid to...
On other cars, the PCV valve goes to a line that goes right to the intake ducting... this round thing seems more imporant, especially since the other vacuum tube is also attached to it.
Any ideas?
Thanks, sorry for being unclear, but hopefully someone will know what Im speaking of.
Thanks,
JMH
