GF4 dino oils and Auto-Rx rinse???

Are ALL GF-4 conventional oils suitable for the Auto-Rx rinse cycle? Any reason not to just use some cheap Supertech, since it will only be run for 2500-3500 miles? Any conventional oils to avoid for the rinse cycle (i.e. Are there any conventional oils that are blends, but are not labeled as such - not counting High Mileage oils)?

I asked the same question in the Auto-Rx forums and the answer I got was YES.

However, I went ahead and got some 5w30 pennzoil that was labeled GF-3 to use for the rinse. I used Castrol GTX for the cleaning phase.

If yiou are not sure then go to the auto-Rx website and post your question in their forums.

The good news: On my 2000 dodge neon with 87,000 miles, I am now about 500miles into the rinse, and the car is using much less oil than it did prior to the treatment.

I would use Auto-Rx again.

Use any Conventional oil that meets or exceeds the requirements of your motor for the rinse phase. You will be only running 2000-3000 miles for the rinse phase. The whole key is to run a conventional oil, non-polar oil for rinsing off the metal surfaces free of contaminants.

So the consensus seems to be a GF4 Conventional oil should be just fine? I have a couple of cases of Mobil Clean 5000 and thought it would be ideal with it's extra dose of cleaners???? I am coming up on an oil change anyway so I figured I would use it for the clean cycle, drive 1500-2000 miles, then a fresh change for the rinse cycle, another 2000-3000 miles and then go back to Mobil 1 for the completion cycle.

Any thoughts on the Mobil Clean 5000 in this process? Any problems, concerns or suggestions on starting Auto-Rx with a fresh oil and filter change?
